On 13th May 2021 MarsX marked the next big leap in the history of human exploration and development, by launching the first ever mission to the Red Planet. After four and a half years of hard work and dedication, the team at MarsX were delighted to see the successful launch of their rocket, which will ultimately see the first human colony established on Mars.
The goal of the MarsX mission is to find a way to terraform the Martian atmosphere so that it can become inhabitable, support sustainable economic activity, and ultimately provide a new home for future generations. The team at MarsX are no doubt aware of the considerable challenges they face in making their mission successful, but they are unbowed in their ambition and confidence that they will be successful in their endeavours.
For the moment, the MarsX mission will focus on robotic exploration. This will involve mapping the planet, studying surface features such as the composition of the soil and atmosphere, and assessing viability for human habitation. In the longer term, when sufficient evidence is present to suggest that a human colony is possible, the MarsX team will then begin building infrastructure and resources necessary to support a human community.
MarsX also plan to leverage the resources of the private sector to build their human colony. By working hand in hand with cutting-edge space technology companies such as SpaceX, MarsX will be able to make use of cutting-edge technology that will make the task of establishing a human colony on Mars much easier.
For the moment, the MarsX team will be providing regular updates regarding the progress made on the mission, as well as details regarding the efforts that will be made to establish the first human settlement on Mars.
