OpenAI Chief Executive Officer, Sam Altman, has cautioned about “frightening moments” and “substantial disruptions” as artificial intelligence developers hurry to produce systems at the level of humans, known as Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). He believes that AGI will be the subsequent significant technological advancement, providing “astonishing” advantages but also significant challenges. The ChatGPT AI chatbot developed by OpenAI recently gained attention for its remarkable capability to generate responses resembling those of humans, but Altman perceives it as merely the commencement and asserts that the advent of AGI will completely overshadow it.
